Is your site ready for the frame
Frame delivery needs to connect with a prepared site and an agreed installation plan. The exact requirements depend on the design, components, delivery vehicles and appointed contractor. Use the questions below to prepare the discussion with your team.
Foundations and setting out
Has the responsible team confirmed that the foundations and relevant interfaces match the approved design? Check how dimensions, levels, fixing positions and any required inspections will be recorded and accepted. Use the project-specific tolerances, not a general brochure figure.
Access and delivery
Can the proposed vehicles reach the site, turn where needed and unload in the planned position? Discuss restrictions, overhead obstructions, neighbouring property and any permissions or traffic arrangements required.
Lifting and installation space
Who arranges the crane or other lifting equipment? The appointed lifting and installation professionals need to assess the relevant ground conditions, working space and operation. Confirm the planned exclusion areas.
Storage and weather protection
If components cannot be installed directly from delivery, agree where they will be placed, how they will be supported and how they will be protected. Clarify who records transport damage or missing items.
Site services and facilities
Agree what power, water, access equipment and welfare arrangements the installation team needs and who provides them. Confirm when these will be ready and who checks them before the team arrives.
One readiness check before dispatch
Bring the outstanding items together in a documented site-readiness check. Identify the person responsible for each item and the point at which the site is accepted for delivery. If something changes, tell the relevant team promptly — a revised access arrangement or incomplete foundation can affect transport and installation planning.
Grain co-ordinates the information within its agreed scope, connecting manufacture and delivery with the appointed site team.
